Prior to this activity, students are learning about how gravity works. There is a comic in their workbook about three different people's opinions on how gravity affects apples on a tree. She has has students vote on who they think is correct about gravity and why. After getting a variety of responses, she gets a box and three paper clips with strings. This is to illustrate the effect of gravity on apples and each person's perspective.
