Employ higher-order questioning techniques

My CT focuses much of her instruction on having students justify/explain their reasoning and answer. For her, regardless of the assignment, she will have students share their thinking. She explained to me that she does it for a variety of reasons. One such reason is to understand where they are having misconceptions. Another reason is for students to model different types of thinking/reasoning to one another. She will employ this during both class discussion and on worksheets.
