Indicator 14

Create an information intensive environment that includes print, non-print, multimedia and digital texts. 

In my Observation 2 lesson plan, we used both a digital text that students read via the Activboard and a physical book that we read from. In both instances, the book was used to facilitate a read aloud of an informational text. For the digital text, since it is very large and student friendly, it is used to promote their fluent reading via a popcorn reading. Students volunteer themselves to read the digital text to have some fluency reinforcement as well as boost student engagment. For the physical book, it is large so students can visibly see it from mutliple perspectives on the carpet. It also a very complex text so it is used for a teacher read aloud as it would have been too difficullt for students to read independently and the focus was reading comprehension only.
